We have updated our software to run on your computer (so that you do not have to update each chip, each time there is an update). You can find this download at the top of this page.
Once you have downloaded this software to your computer, please locate the download on your computer and install the software. You will now be able to make this transfer with minimal effort.
On a PC (Windows): Insert your chip and connect your iPod. From your Start Menu, select "All Programs" and then select iofy. A new window will start and it will display the title you have plugged into your computer. Please click on this title, and it will start playing. Select the pause button and then select "File" on the top left of the window. You will select "Zip" from this drop down menu to start the Zip process to your iPod.
On a Mac: Install the software as recommended on the download page. Insert your chip as well as connect your iPod.
From Finder, select "Applications" and then select iofy This will start a new window displaying the title of the chip you have inserted.
Please click on this title, and it will start playing. Select the pause button and then select "File" on the top left of your screen (next to the Apple).
You will select "Zip" from this drop down menu to start the Zip process to your iPod!!
To sync to the iPhone/iPod Touch, you must have iTunes set up properly for syncing audiobooks. First, please download the appropriate software for your computer at the top of this page--after which, install this software to your computer. then follow the directions below:
1. In iTunes, view the Preferences window (On a PC, choose Edit and then Preferences..., or choose iTunes and then Preferences... on a Mac).
2. Select the General tab and ensure the Audiobooks item is checked. Then click OK.
3. On your PC or Mac, plug the iPhone/iPod Touch in.
4. In iTunes, choose the iPhone/iPod Touch from the Devices section in the sidebar on the left.
5. Uncheck Sync only checked songs and videos. This can not be selected prior to an Audiofy Zip.
6. Click on the Music tab for the iPhone/iPod Touch and make sure Sync Music is selected.
7. Either select All Songs and Playlists or ensure the Audiobooks checkbox is selected.
8. In the Audiofy software go to "File" at the top of your screen to use the Zip feature.
9. Click on Zip and follow the on screen instructions.
10. Wait for iTunes to show that it is done Syncing the iPhone. You can now click the Close button and enjoy your audiobook on your iPhone.
To sync to the your "Plays For Sure" compatible MP3 player or to sync your lesson with Windows Media Player, please use these directions. First, please download the appropriate software for your computer at the top of this page--after which, install this software to your computer. then follow the directions below:
A connection to the Internet is required at the time you transfer your audiobook chip content, and when you sync the audio with any PlaysForSure or "secure WMA" media player.
1.Insert an Audiofy audiobook chip into an SD card slot or adapter connected to your computer, such as the Audiofy USB Reader, or media card readers typically used with digital cameras. If the Audiofy playback window appears when the audiobook chip is inserted, close it at this time by clicking the "X" button in the upper right corner of the window.
2. Go to Start --> Programs --> iofy and start the iofy software.
3. Once you see your chip title, click it twice or until it starts playing--at this time select the pause button to silence the chapter.
4. In the upper left corner of the Audiofy playback window, click on the "File" menu, then click on "Zip" In the new window that appears, click the "Windows Media" button to begin transferring your audiobook chip content.
5. When the progress bar reaches 100 percent, a message will appear to confirm the transfer is complete. Clicking the "OK" button will return you to the Audiofy playback window.
At this point, you may use the Windows Media Player application to listen to your audiobook, or "sync" the audio with any PlaysForSure or "secure WMA" media players you own. You may want to consult the instruction manual for your media player for additional guidance on how to "sync" Windows Media content with your device.
1. Windows Media Player is located in the "Start" menu, either listed in the "All Programs" section, or opened by clicking the "Run..." icon, typing "wmplayer" and clicking the "OK" button.
2. Hold down the [ ctrl ] (or "control") key in the lower left corner of your keyboard, and type the letter "M." This ensures that the Windows Media Player menu bar is displayed.
3. At the top of the window, click on the "View" menu, then click on the "Go To" submenu, and then click on the word "Library."
4. In the column on the left side of the window, find the item "My Playlists." If you see a plus sign ("+") in a box to the left of the words "My Playlists," click once or twice to expand the "My Playlists" section.
5. In the "My Playlists" section, click on the name of your Audiofy audiobook chip. To play any chapter or passage listed in the center column, double click on the name of the passage.
6. To transfer all of the audiobook chip content to a portable media player, use your right mouse button to click on the triangle icon immediately to the left of the playlist with the name of your audiobook chip, then use the left mouse button to click on "Add to Sync List." Alternately, you can transfer specific passages listed in the center column by using your right mouse button to click on the name of each passage, and then using the left mouse button to click on the words "Add to," followed by clicking on the words "Sync List" in the submenu to the right.
7. Make sure your PlaysForSure or "secure WMA" media player is connected to your computer. Then, on your keyboard, hold down the [ alt ] key in the lower left corner and type the letter "L." In the menu that appears in the upper right corner of the window, click on the words "Sync List." At the top of the right column, verify that the name of your media player is shown, or else click to select it from the menu.
8. At the bottom of the right column, click the words "Start Sync" to transfer your audiobook chip content to your media player. This process may take several minutes, depending on the length of the audiobook, and the speed of the USB interface between your computer and your media player.
